Sustainability
For CSSI, the concept of sustainable construction practices is not limited to simply the supply of products that are manufactured from renewable resources. Sustainable construction practices incorporate a variety of strategies during the design, manufacture, delivery, erection, and waste disposal phases of the building cycle. CSSI concentrates on promoting a variety of products, practices, and policies that limit energy consumption and reduce the use of nonrenewable resources. Products include engineered wood, FSC Lumber, Low VOC glues and adhesives, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS), Cypress board siding, and Lite Steel Beams. CSSI employees, vendors and subcontractors partner to minimize the amount of waste created by our designs, product wrappings, dunnage, and material utilization. CSSI has established a network of partners that allow us to provide locally sourced products. We provide energy efficient SIPs that allow the size of HVAC systems to be reduced. We incorporate dimensional planning techniques that stack framing members thus reducing the amount of material used in a given project. Our representatives are located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and cooperate throughout the territory to minimize travel. Working with our customers we recycle waste from the jobsite.
